Even though SLI is a pile of screwy wa*k that is just a class apart. Just wish ATI would get a move on with one 512 card.

If only SLI worked, I wouldn't be able to resist.

Isn't ATI doing a SLi-alike?

Crossfire or something?

Yeah they are. It is rumoured you can have any two cards in their configs though which would be decent, can't see how that will work with cards having different pipelines and what not.

Don't have any problems myself yet so I will hang tight until the next massive upgrade in a year or so.

Yeah, same here graphics-wise.

Going for another CPU upgrade shortly though.

Should be decent though. Rather than Nvidia saying you have to have identical cards (same video BIOS etc) it looks as though ATI are going to release a CFE for each make, i.e. one for X800, X850 etc.

Plus ATI are better :D

For what that is yeah but the concept providing it will work with all games isn't. The Crossfire idea from ATI looks far better though and far cheaper with the only drawback being they are developing CFE cards for the X800/X850 series only.

But...

If you own an X800 card the CFE card you will need is rumoured to be around £200 (plus a new mobo to handle the CFE) with the X850 CFE card being closer to £350. You can combine CFE cards with standard Radeon ones though which is where Nvidia falls over in a heap.
