If you live in Hull and want the Internet, you HAVE to go with Karoo - there is no other choice. For the whole of the East Riding, there's only this one ISP. Other providers don't want to enter the market here because it's pretty insignificant in the first place and would prove too costly anyway.

As such, with only one company to buy broadband from, here are the packages available to me: http://www.karoo.co.uk/default.asp?page=fasterbroadband&id=12

750 K (!) for 27.99 a month (albeit an uncapped service)....pfft.

I sent a red-faced, shouty e-mail to customer services pointing out how rubbish their packages are, but just got the general "we're looking into new packages" nonsense. So whilst you're all swanning around on your 2 Mb, 20 quid a month connections, I'll sit here and be ripped off.

That's because you have a BT line, here in Hull and the East Riding, we have our own telecommunications company for some bizarre and inbred reason. The company's called Kingston Communications and they supply Internet access through a subsidary called Karoo. Since it's their phone line and not BT's, I can only choose broadband from Karoo.

It's utter balls - as if having to live in Hull isn't punishment enough.

Why aren't others available in hull.

I live in a crap town in Lincolnshire and we get everything (Apart from cable in most places).

haha, no - there's just Karoo. Nothing but Karoo, not one other supplier. Your only option if you want the Internet in *spits violently* Hull is Karoo.

I'd love to but Karoo operate under a 12 month contract, so I'd have to pay £40 for a whole year. £480 for that amount of time, and I'll be a uni for some if not most of it.

I wish the contract wasn't for so long, I think Pipix offer a 3 month contract, that'd suit me perfect at 40 quid a month...

If I was you and could afford it I'd go for the 3Mbps package.
