These days so many film sequels are being released and trilogies are increasing too. The first film is very succesful and it is only natural that because of the first sales that the company make another one for some more cash to pocket aswell. And sequels are getting more and more common and usually you think as the first film is good that the second will be..
After you walk out of a great film and are thinking about how your money was well spent then something hits you... Will there be a sequel or not and you hope there will because the first was so good. When they annonce that the 2nd film will be released in the next year you are thrillied and cant wait. Eventually when the months pass and you start to see the trailers for the film it shows some awesome parts and looks tremendous. When you finally go to see the film and the hype is building and you sit down through it you hate it.
Basically the company have hyped up a massive sequel and totally ripped you off. When they receive a massive reception from a great film they put no effort in to make the second one but still get as much or more money.
SO sequels usually bite and i wouldn't recommend you go to an over hyped film only if you really love the first one.

Your absolutly right there, Sequels more often than not are never as good as the first film. Maybe its just cause when you see the first film you have that experience of something new, something origonal, you cant experience that with a sequal. Terminater 2 was one of the very few great sequels, and as for the Alien trilogy, they were never as good as the first one. Back to the future 2 was great but spoiled by a poor 3rd edition to the name. If anyone Knows any sequals that toped their origonal movies then please do tell.
Okay well this is one for the future and your point might well be proved on this one. I have limited knowledge on this so correct me if i am wrong which i probably will be...
Now The Matrix...was a top quality film some people may disagree but i thought it was a stonking film..and yes they are working on the next matrix film which i think will be released next year or late this year well i will be deffinately be going to go see it and i hope its as good as the first !! but we will have to see...
Oh and then 6 months after releasing The Matrix 2 theres talk of there been... (i can't remember if its The Matrix 3 as a sequel or a prequel) well what ever it is i hope they don't do what you say !! im sure they won't but who knows they may milk the matrix film..

After reading what you have put, i can't agree that Terminator2 isn't better than its prequal. Although this could only be the exception.
