A few hours ago I pre-ordered the GBA and I can't wait until it comes! But what is its future? Well more and more stunning games and with games like Alone in the Dark coming out on the GBC I expect games 10 times better on the new system!

But what lies in its deep dark future of the GBA well one word... Gamecube! One year to go until Nintendo's next super machine but how will it work with Nintendo's handheld masterpiece?

There is so much that can be done from using it as a virtual memory unit and using it to hide a deck of cards to playing two games at once! You know some games require you to play as 2 different people what happens if these 2 different adventures split into 2 different games.

Imagine Metroid, the Gamecube version could have you play as Samus meanwhile the Gameboy Advanced will have you play as Samus' ally! You could use the GBA as the controller and you could play the first level as the Gaemcube game but to get to the next level samus' ally needs to complete his mission. Now you switch to the GBA version of the game and it will appear on the TV screen now you can complete the allys first level once this has been done you can complete Samus' second level etc...

Which brings me on what else Nintendo could be cooking up behind closed doors... the N64 Controller presented a problem for playing GBC games on it but using the GBA as a controller means you could play GBA games on the big screen.

Soon the GBA will be a essential add on to the Gamecube (but more likely the Gamecube will be an essential add on to the GBA) and the future of the 2 will be very close indeed!

Here's to the future

I have two words to that sentence. But i can't say them becuse I have vowed not to swear. Lets just say that they are what made Jim Royle famous.

Why not just play both characters on the Gamecube? It seems pointless to have to keep switching to the less powerful GBA and back to the Gamecube when you could get it all on one of them.
Maybe you mean that one person plays a character on the GBA while the other plays the main character and they work together without having to divide the screen?
Well I don't know but you will have to clarify.

This is a very worthwhile point. The ability to use the Game Boy advance with the Game Cube will certainly boost sales in both directions. Ok it will most likely be used in RTS games for tactics and building when in multiplayer, substitutes in football games and personal radars in Fps's but it will open up a whole new use for the Handheld console.

Software on the Game Boy Advance is obviously going to be "advanced " beyond what we have come to expect certainly with games like Alone in the Dark 4 being produced on the lowly GBC. If you have not seen many of the Gam boy advance games in action I suggest you get over to www.nintendo.com and get into their E3 section and check it out. Your jaw will hit the floor I can tell you.

4 player....did you just say 4 player on a handheld. I'm in heaven aren't I can you imagine playing 4 player Mario Kart. This is something that has never been done. Ok it has but not with the far superior 2-d/3-d Mario Kart everyone loves so much. This just can not get any better can it.....one cartridge you say. Oh my god I really am dead aren't I. Ok maybe you will only be able to play simple courses and only use a few karts but if no one else wants to buy the game at lkeast you can try to convince them by letting them try it out. You can even thrash their sorry as* while you r at it.

The thing I am most looking forward to though is a new Game Boy Camera. It hasn't been announced yet but I am sure a new version of the phat Game Boy Camera will be made sometime in the future. Better resolution more pics able to be held at one time and better animations to name a few advantages. I'll probably die when I get my mitts on one though as I still use my original GB although for the past couple of months I have been using my brothers GBC.

Wow, do you have an alergy to all things computerised? You seem to be worried about your impending death that's all. Anyway, wasn't Mario Kart 64 4 player? I seem to remember that is was but maybe I've gone insane.

What they really need if they want to make a decent RTS game on a console is a touch pad for controlling your pointer (or perhaps a mouse if they could). Of course consoles aren't for playing RTSs and it's perhaps best they stay that way so that they can concentrate on making great games of the types that they can do.
