I don't think you realise that the PS2 has some things over the GC... although I will get a GC, it's not 100% perfect:
1) the ps2 will have its 5th gen of games when the GC comes out, and will already have a big fan base. The fact is that more developers are on the PS2s side because of this!
2) The DVD player. I believe consoles are for gaming... but I know lots of people who would quite like a DVD player
3) The PS2 games will be cheaper by the time the GC comes out... even might have platinum games
4) the consoles will be at comparable prices when the GC comes out
Now, I am buying a GC, but there are good things about the PS2 too

Hence the "graystation" name calling and the childish language it's written in.
That's not to say that most PS magazines are any better...
The ironic thing about the stereoype of Nintendo being for Kids is that if you ask a little kid in the street what computer they'd want, you'd almost certainly hear playstation or playstation 2.
