But was it fullfilled? Can TWINE live up to Goldeneye. To put it bluntly -no. When Eurocom first began making the game, it was clear that it would never live up to the name of Goldeneye. So instead of comparing the two, I'll leave Goldeneye out
Graphics
Now, a lot of people will tell you that graphics don't matter, only the gameplay. This is not true. And thankfully, Eurocom have taken this into account. The Graphics are good. No more, just good. The character models do leave a lot to be desired, but the design on the levels and weapons is above average. The game also uses the expansion pack, but thankfully there is no slowdown, unlike PDark.
Single Player
This mode is very good, but lacks difficulty. Anyone that has completed even Goldeneye's (oops) Agent will wizz through TWINE. But aside from that the gameplay is smooth, and the plot follows the amazing film. It lacks tension too, The guards are far too easy to kill, Eurocom going for quantity of enemies over quality. There are less actual objectives than in similar gfames, and resembles Doom in that you just seem to fight through hordes of bad guys. Not bad though.
Multiplayer
The be all and end all of a good game. And luckily, it is good. 8 well-designed arenas are available at first, with 4 new ones available later. The weapons selections and modes are quite good and varied. Unfortunately, the way it is designed means that running around with all guns blazing is the only way to win. There is no technical fighting or sniping oppurtunities.
Cheats
Like in goldeneye, cheats are earnable by completing levels in certain times, but only on agent. And unlike Goldeneye, they are only for multiplayer - new weapons selections, modes, skins, and arenas. Where is the all gun cheat, or ivisibility, or even paintball mode? Sorry, they're not here. A bit of a dissapointment in this field.
Overall
Fairly good graphics, OK single and multi-players, a great plot, and Average cheats add together to make an average game. Nothing special, die-hard Bond fans may find it worth buying, others should just give it a rent.
