My hard disk was recently corrupted on my PC and I now have an iPod with a load of songs on it but since the original file on my PC no longer exists I am concerned that when I reconnect to my new disk drive it will wipe my iPod content. Any ideas?

What's even worse is if you download songs from itunes and put them on your pod and then somehow happen to loose all the songs from your computer (hard disk crash etc), then there is no way to get the songs back on your PC and you can't download them again without having to pay for them again.
Luckily the 3rd party programs offer a way around this.

You can however use some 3rd party programs such as ipod agent or copypod to take the music off the ipod to put onto the PC.

Yeah, it will. If your iTunes file is lost then your iPod will be wiped when you update it. You'll have to reload all your music onto your new iTunes I'm afraid.
