Doesnt take much to confuse you, does it?

Meh, haven't played either of them for quite a while. There is still some strong language that I remember from VC though. Most notably a word that begins with P and ends in K.

The 'F' word is only used in San Andreas, and not GTA 3 or Vice City. If you don't believe me then look up VC on the BBFC website- it will say "some, moderate" for language.

There is frequent use of the 'F' word in all of the games. It's easy to notice as well, especially in San Andreas. It's not limited to the cut-scenes, if CJ gets hit by a car or whatever, then his response often contains the 'F' word.

Is it really that horrific that kids are getting hold of GTA 3? Fair enough, no six year old should be playing it but I don't really see a problem with rating the game along the lines of "12+".
Think about the things that are responsible for its age rating:
Violence
Yep, fair enough, GTA 3 can be very violent at times. The thing is, though, that the violence is all animated. It's not real people like a film. And yes, it does make a difference. Ever seen Happy Tree Friends? The animated violence in that is horrific and its a "12".
Language
All of it is fairly mild, and I don't remember a single use of the 'F'-word. In film terms it wouldn't be more than a "12". Besides, kids hear much worse in school.
Sex
Nope. Not really any. That is, unless, if you count the fact that the game features one or two prostitutes. Nevertheless, nothing is seen on screen and anything that does happen is implied rather than shown. Therefore it wouldn't be more than a "12".
Drugs
Now this I don't remember. I'm guessing they were in there somewhere, but I don't remember seeing any taking of drugs; only references. Therefore, you guessed it, "12".
Horror
Uh...Nah. Not unless you count gunning down an unrealistic, badly-drawn computer-generated granny as frightening.
