Yeah, I had seen a Bioshock article but didn't read it. Then when it was brought up the other day again I went back to check the article only to be pleasantly surprised a sequel is in the works. Hope they don't screw it up.
Irrational Games are a good developer, I have faith that if they can say they can make a decent follow up to System Shock 2, then that's exactly what we'll get.
Also, it's not a sequel to system shock, it's set in the 1940's and centre's round an abandoned research base in the Antarctic where all kinds of experiments have been practiced, and inevitably gone wrong. It actually sounds similar to the plot of SS2.
