It's main use is as awebcam, sitting on top of your computer, for video confrencing, takin pictures, and recrding videos to send to friends. The quality while docked is amazing, with full colour and high res quality.
It automaticaly adjusts according to light, and even works quite well in low light. The images are stored on your HD, but can be put onto disk, and you can compile and burn your own CDROM photo albums (with a CD-RW drive)
Now for the fun and hi-tech bit. All webcams are stuck on your PC, and stopped working when uynplugged right? Wrong!
The CL WGP can ce detached and used a still camera. It can take upto 150 quality images, although quality can be turned up, reducing picture allowance. But even at low re, the pictures are very good quality, in or outdoors. It even comes with a carry case. There is no flash, and at low light it is pretty poor. You can take a few seconds of video too ( replacing the stills), and annotate certain photos with the 120 second digital voice recording. The LCD screen tells you the mode, it beeps when a photo is taken and shuts off after 1 min. There is also a self timer!
Creative labs are renowned for this type of thing, and have learned from other companies mistakes. I cannot fault it!
It needs a 200mhz or faster processor, 32MB RAM and a USB port. You need 128mb of HD space for all the extra software (which is not really required).
This is not a real digital camera, as it has no screen, and the pics aren't as good, but for £100 it'll do!!!!
