I dont think you can trade Pokemon from Blue to Red and vice verca when using an emulator. Unless emulators are more advanced than they were a few years ago, but I doubt anyone has made one that good yet.

All emulators are legitimate (to the best of my knowledge), it's the ROM files that cause the problems.
