Can't we just bypass all this Euro/EU flimflam and just fast-track to a World Constitution and the creation of the United States of The World, wherein Religion is seen as nothing more than subjective mindhealth and capitalism as a means of paying for social justice...

To be honest, I think any EU constitution, whatever its content, would have had a tough time in a referrendum.
I subscribe to the view that the proposed one doesn't change the status quo very much - not for the UK at least, although France don't have the same opt-out on asylum policy do they?
