Then there was John 'Hannibal' Smith, a master of disguise.
B.A. Baracus, played by Mr T, and Templeton Peck "Faceman" were the oher two members of the A-Team.
This show ran from 1983 to 1987, spanning some 94 episodes.
I used to love the A-Team, as predictable as it was. From the moment I first heard the openning narrative about 4 men wanted for a crime they did not commit and the fantastic theme tune, I was hooked.
It didn't matter that every week was pretty much the same. Hannibal would be in disguise, and find someone that needed help. The A-Team would try to help them. This always led to them getting captured though. Fortunately the villians would always lock them in a shed with a bunch of power tools and vehicles, so the A-Team could make some kind of tank, and bust out. Then they'd blow up stuff, and the bad guys would fly through the air.
Sometimes, if it was a special episode, other stuff would happen. either Howling Mad Murdock would have to escape from a mental home, or Face would meet an old girlfriend.
More often than not though, the problem was trying to get BA on a plane. "I ain't gettin' on no damn plane, fool." he'd say. The rest of the A-Team always found a way around it though. Usually just drugging him, but hey, it worked.
Man, the A-Team had everything going for it, even action figures! Each one coming with rifle and gear! As the adverts went. And get this, they were fully posable! Previous action figures, most notably the Star Wars ones could only move their arms at the shoulder, and their legs at the hip. Not the A-Team. They had elbow and knee joints too!
I even had an A-Team colouring book!
And the point of this post? Firstly, it's been re-issued on DVD, and secondly the whisperings on an A-Team film just won't go away. They would have to have an entirely new A-Team though, given that George Peppard (Hannibal) is dead. I can't say that this would be a good idea, as they'd probably just ruin it, and get some lame band to redo the theme, but with words or something a la Limp Bizkits Mission Impossible dire effort.
So, any one else remember the A-Team fondly? Or did you hate it?

No not Mel Gibson.
He should

Historically incorrect movies.
Speaking as a true scot! I'd say about 40% of Braveheart is made up by Hollywood and the rest is probably half true and why they added a bleeding love story to it I don't know.... AND there is more chance of a snowball in hell surviving than William Wallace having a hissing relationship with the princess of France or whatever. Still we kicked your asss, FREEDOMMMMMMMMMM! (add strong patriotic Scottish accent)
When I arrived in Florida a few weeks ago, they had a 48-hour A-Team marathon with back-to-back episodes. I tell you, holidays didn't come much better than that heh.:)

MacGuyver is only remembered now due to the Simpsons.
Leslie Nielsen or Steve Martin should be Hannibal.
Jim Carrey as Murdoch.
Mr T as BA (he's still alive and an absolute hero)
Some smooth young actor as Face
We'd all watch it.
And Macgyver...a cheap imitation.

No not Mel Gibson.
He should stick to what he does best.
Historically incorrect movies.
"Here BA, have this milk which we always give you before a plane ride"
"I pity da fool that makes me go on a plane"
"Yes...of course...driiiiiink the miiiilk BA"
(2hrs later)
"Hannibal, quit with the jibba-jabba, how'd I get here Crazy fool?"
"No idea BA"
Ahhh, the wildly innacurate A-Team with their rubbish shooting, saving the farm from evil land developers..Hannibal ALWAYS being the chinese dude at the beginning to accept the case.
What a class show.
Mind you, I'm not sure, looking back, at the comedic aspects of an insane, post-traumatic stress disorder suffering Vietnam Vet.
Mind you, when you're a kid, you dont worry about laughing at insane war veterans do you?
They are remaking the A-Team, talk is of Mel Gibson playing Hannibal and Zeus "Tiny" Lister being BA.
