Wow. Astonishing film, really powerfully performed yet so elegantly made. At first you think it's a Brit revenge flick, plain and simple, but then the plot unfolds and it reveals itself to be a different beast altogether. Notable for being one of the only British 'gangster' films (although I use the term extremely lightly) that doesn't make me want to pull my teeth out with pliers then jab them in my eye.
Oh, and if anyone wants a masterclass on how to act threatening, you can't beat Paddy Considine in this - menacing, calm and absolutely terrifying.
