I'm thinking about chucking the towel in on one of the long term projects I'm working on, but I don't want to leave them in the lurch cos I'm their only developer.
In terms of work, there is a fair amount - but not enough to be a full time job.
The clients know what they want, and then I just supply it - it's the big CMS thing I've been working on.
They pay is probably about market rate for what the work involves - I can't say what they would pay a new developer cos I was on a special contract, but I would guess somewhere around £10 per hour??
EDIT: Unless Garin and Gamefreak want to turn this into some kind of management/learning exercise, and we can split the money 3 ways. Also, we can turn it into Trainspotting and I can run off with the cash at the end.
Hahaha, thought not.
My email is: work [at] xymail [dot] co uk
With smaller projects, it's easy, cos I know I've got to do X amount of work, in Y number of weeks. Whereas with this, cos the projects are that much longer, it becomes difficult to organise.
I think I'm gonna go for bar work!
I can't really afford to sub-contract because that would still require a lot of my time to manage it all.
What needs to be done? I'm sure the kind folk here would give you guidance at least if you're losing heart. We're like nerdy Care Bears.
EDIT: Is it just that you're stuck on something, or is it too big a job for one person?

Maybe, guess you can have my MSN username still, can contact me on there if you're still looking for somebody.
I would say though, you shouldn't pass off the project to anybody else unless its a last resort and you just want to get rid of them. If theres too much work, subcontract it. Passing it off to somebody else is essentially giving them the goodwill you've gained as well.
