It's a documentary about a no budget filmmaker and his dreams to create an amazing horror film.
I've wanted to pick it up on DVD (region 1 - you can't buy it here) for quite some time and have heard great things about it. Plus it's a subject I can really relate to.
His friend Mike (the large, quiet man, who used to love partying) was fantastic wasn't he?
His uncle was another of the great characters that really make the film what it is. I also couldn't stop thinking how much Mark (the writer/director) reminded me of Tom Green.
Makes media students look shabby, a guy out there busting his ass instead of "learning" how to bust his ass.
There are some fantastic characters in there, the best of which has to be Mike (who looks a lot like Kevin Smith).
I bet people would have watched it if it was by Michael Moore. Oh well.
There's actually a similar film called Storyville on BBC 2 right now. I have a feeling American Movie will be better though.
