Ah .. that makes me feel so much better, thought I was gonna be the only one, my bike skills far outweigh my driving skills, must be all the crashing :(

I don't know if it's true, but I'd imagine mastering powerslides and handbrake turns would help boost your skill.
I just got into a 'Burnout 3' feel and sped through oncoming traffic, zipping in and out of danger. My Bike skill is better though.

I just builds up over time. Don't crash and it counts towards an improvement. Keep crashing and it won't increase.
