Out of all the Sport games EA make, which do you lot purchase and couldn't live without?

Are you fanatical about FIFA?

Nutty over NBA?

Tingle over Tiger?

And do you buy the update every year, or do you keep the first 2003 version and stick with that, as every year there is hardly any change in the series, whatever sport we are talking about.

Madden and the MVP series are the only games i get from them.

I stick with Hot Shots for my golf, Pro Evo for my footie and ESPN series for my basketball.

Based on games like Links 2004, Top Spin and Rallisport Challenge 2.

I think they're excellent games developers.

Based on what exactly?

Even Microsoft admitted that their Sports games aren't up to standard. It's not just a coincidence that Microsoft aren't releasing any sports games the year that EA decide to support Live.

As much as I dislike the company, I still can't deny the fact that EA do havee some very good games.

I got Tiger Woods 2003 because it was the best golf game I had played since PGA on the Megadrive.

I rented out 2004 and although the gameplay hadn't changed, the added features were well worth paying for the game. The season mode in which you'd have to play a number of seasons to fully complete the game, the real time events, which could be improved on but were a lovely addition. Some nice new courses, don't care about the real golfers much. More golf equipment and the ability to adjust your game face were nice additions too.

I haven't had the chance to check the 2005 version. The next evolution has to be Live play because online tournaments would rock muchly.

The thing is, it probably isn't the same crop of developers each time. Basically all EA do is take the code of the previous year, tweak it ever so slightly and then bang it on the shelves for the public to go and buy. This current crop on monotonous EA Sports titles leads back to 2000-2001 when it hit next generation consoles.

It isn't that the developers are poor it is just the fact they are stuck with crap code that gets fr**ged every year.

Got Tiger 2003, and haven't bothered to buy any of the updates, as there's not really much point.
