1Do you, or have you in recent years, done English Language at A-level?
If "Yes" advance to question 2

2Can you, in brief, explain 'Child language acquisition' to me?
Apparently we have an exam on it and I know nothing of it. NOTHING.

3Help me!

Yeap.

In AS Media studies we had the most idiotic teacher anyone could ever imagine. She never really teached us anything and spent most of the lesson flirting with the college idiot in the class.

She got sacked.

Our Media teacher this year is worse mind, she teaches us stuff, but she thinks we're like 11 year old spakkers who can't understand "big words!". Media studies is easy, it doesn't even present a challenge. Most of the time I just sit and listen in disbelief at how stupid this teacher is.

It works for the rest of the class though, they lap it up and clap like sealions being fed some meaty chunks when they 'discuss' the most mundane topics possible.

No, we didn't get any text books at all.
Just these little booklets the college makes themselves.

You need to know some basic history stuff for change - stuff like the first dictionary, great vowel shift etc. But still not really.

Isn't it nice when teachers ruin everything for you? Rargh.

At least you're in a good position for an easy A, as am I. Got an A last year, and with my kick-ass coursework, I can pretty much do nothing and get the top grade again.

Good times.

FFF - one of my teachers spent 6 months (no lie) teaching us the pre-history of language, which somehow she beleived was linked to language change (but it isn't) - so that's where the time's gone.

With 1 week left we've just been told "oh yeah, you've got a difficult-as-hell module we've not taught you, good luck!"

I worked it out and if I do well in editorial and lang change then I don't need a single mark in lang acquisition and can still get an A.

Do you have the purple text book? I guess I can learn the course from there, maybe.

Yes it is.

A whole 60th. Which isn't much.

Sorry. It's too late for forums...

1/6 is 16.6%

It's still a difference.

I've got a Maths A-level.

15% = 3/20 = 9/60
1/6 = 10/60

1/6 and 15%... Only 1/60th difference...

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Very pleased
Very pleased with the help given by your staff. They explained technical details in an easy way and were patient when providing information to a non expert like me.
