Another reason to be thankful Garden State exists, The Shins. What an excellent band.
Picked up 'Chutes Too Narrow' (their second album) with some birthday money today and I think I may actually be melting. There are some excellent tracks on there. Check out 'Kissing the Lipless', 'So Says I', or 'Saint Simon'.
I only wish I'd been able to discover them before. They were second headliner one day on the Carling stage at Reading/Leeds last year which would have been great.

No but I almost bought it today as well. I listened to samples from each for a while trying to decide which to begin my collection with, and Chutes interested me the most.

There are quite a few good songs on that album: Weird Divide, Your Algebra, Caring Is Creepy, Pressed In A Book.
Past and the Pending has gotta be a favourite though with Caring Is Creepy. Really, really nice. Would recommend all those songs..
