I bought the Buffy series 2 DVD package the other day. It comes in a great case that is supposed to represent a watcher's bible. The packaging is pretty superb, but the contents are even better. Instead of the 3 disc set of the original, this season 2 compilation comes on a fangtastic 6 discs, containing all 22 of the fabulous Buffy episodes and 3 great documentaries.

This series partly focuses on Buffy's boyfriend, Angel and their relationship. Further on in time, Angel leaves, starting his own series as a private detective, but here we find them coming to terms with their difficult relationship where Buffy realises that it's difficult being a vampire slayer when you're going out with a vampire!

There is a good mix of humour and horror, some great new characters (Spike is a fan favorite and goes from a scary character to more of a comedy bad guy over time, but always manages to get some great screen time) and some grusome monsters too that are usually dispatched by Buffy in many painful ways.

The transfer is very nice for a television series, so much nicer than having to watch the series on video, and although the sound is only Dolby stereo it still manages some nice moments. The discs themselves are packed, some great animated menus open your world to three feature packed featurettes, including one about the monsters Buffy encountered in the first two seasons, there are some good commentaries for some of the episodes, giving an insight into the director's mind and Joss Whedon's ideas.

I just wanted to tell everyone about this package, as it is just so well put together and is probably the best box set I've bought so far.

Has anyone else seen this, and if so, what do you think? Do you agree with my comments, or were you disappointed?

Incidentally, it's the last episode for this season on Friday and I got band rehearsals. Bah! Guess I'm gonna have to tape it :)

You'll be so thankfull when it does though!

Incidentally, are there any other packs that you guys recommend? I already have The Prisoner, Alien and Buffy season 1 box sets, so what else is there?
