can anyone tell me how I can visit web sites on my PC without any of the other users on that PC knowing I have visited these sites? :)

All depends how 'private' you want to be - using the above settings in IE only clears the easy-to-see history! Windows maintains a collection of files called INDEX.DAT which contain all your surfing history.
Your browser's index.dat is VERY hidden. This is the normal path (XP) - but depending on your settings you will need to use a DOS prompt to see it:
c:\documents and settings\youruser\local settings\temporary internet files\content.ie5
The reset or empty filesize is 32kb, over the years this file grows to many mb's and contains a log of ALL your internet activity...
For more info google index.dat
All very Gary Glitter!

Right, time to yell at my computing teacher for lying to me! Oh, and I love living in the UK, but then I do live in a country village in the South East with great countryside around me :-)

Now that's interesting as the 5 year rule goes against UK data protection and privacy legislations. The maximum time anyone can hold any data about you, wether it be name , address, or access logs, is 6 months unless they obtain your consent to hold that data for longer with a valid reason.
As for worrying about being caught for dodgy downloads. Any organisation outside or inside of the UK can't obtain data about you without your concent or prior knowledge. There was a case last year between the RIAA and NTL/BT about handing over details of customers who where downloading pirate films. NTL/BT effectively told them to stick it as they aren't allowed to give out that data, RIAA goes off with tail between legs!;)
Sometimes living in the UK does have it's advantages!;)

That and every time you visit a site you ISP logs that address and has to keep it for 5 years, so even if you delete (I mean real delete here, writting 0s) illegal stuff from your PC, they can still have evidence against you. So, in summary, stop downloading illegal software you fools!

Doesn't aafect other users if you use seperate accounts in windows.
If IE, just set your browser to delete the history at 0 day and set the cache to 0Mb

Well I'd set it up with one of the guys, so you could play. But when you joined the rest just went 'mardy' (for the lack of a better word). I'll try and set it up again at another time...
And we can hopefully get a few more [ASS] players on as well...
Tomm, what happened to CS the other night? I was looking forward to kicking some kid's head in.
EDIT: Don't worry, I've just seen your edited post in PC Gaming.

(I know, but it's a warning for all. Plus it snubbed your joke.)
