gamesTM, p.127

A picture of the boxart for Gran Turismo 4 and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Except while GT4 has PlayStation 2 at its top, Snake Eater has a Nintendo GameCube header.

I don't see why Konami wouldn't bring MGS3 out on GameCube. Twin Snakes did well, as did Splinter Cell 1 and 2, to my knowledge. Sales look likely to continue increasing heathily, and then we have a nice selection of games this coming Easter - including the exclusive Resi 4.

Good news, if this is true. I think it'll probably do well.

It'll be only on GameCube for at least a year, apparently.

That sounds pretty exclusive to me.

Well if it's exclusive but just for over a year it still isn't what I'd call exclusive. It's out in 2005 sometime in Japan so it'll be less than a year anyway.

Contract says a year, apparently.

And if it IS a late release, the PS2 will be forgotten by the time it gets its version. So it's practically exclusive.

They made the mistake with the game and an Xbox logo on the bottom of an advertisement.

I think it is purely a publicity stunt to generate more interest in the game.

Even if all gamecube owners bought Metal Gear Solid 3, it won't be as much as the sales on PS2. I remember that once before the Xbox official magazine had words " Final Fantasy VII " written on the cover, it was thought that this is because FF& Advent Children is a DVD and can be played on Xbox, but that can't be it because FF7 AC became PSP exclusive in the U.S and Europe and the normal DVD will only come out in Japan.

Psssh. All this hoo-hah about Advent Children.

The only people who will buy it are gonna be really sad FF nuts. It won't do worse than Spirits Within because of the FF7 name, but I can hardly see it being a big hit.

I wouldn't buy it if it came out on DVD, let alone a PSP specific format.

Sony obviously don't think it'll sell too well, or they're counting heavily on the fact it will.

That's not the point. The actual reason for buying FF7 AC is not for the film itself. FF7 AC is important to FF7 games just as much as the animatrix was important to the matrix trilogy. Haven't you heard about FF7: Dirge of cerberus (PS2) , and FF7: Crisis Core (PSP) ?
