P4 Intel 2.6 with HT turned on
1024 MB Ram
Windows XP SP2 - fuly updated
ATI Radeon 9800 PRO fitted with Arctic Silencer and OC'ed
80GB HD
Creative 5.1 Soundblaster Live Digital
Switched it on last monday and got a blackscreen saying windows could not start as "hll.dll" was missing.
Couldnt get into safe mode and so I went into recovery console, at first I repaired XP and the thing started up okay, but then it did the same again so I reformated, update everything etc
I now have a PC which just does not seem to work right! Everything is slower, the D and E drives don't seem to want to let any games install - they access the discs but lock the PC until the discs are ejected, and I'm sure I can hear the HD grinding away - couldn't do this before! Video card performance is also not as good as it used to be, and generally everything crashes more - five IE crashes in two days compared to about one in one year before!
Ideas?
