What are the best web-design tools, for windows?

Is TextPad the best text-editor? Are there any apps. for to-do lists and notes? I know Mac's have loads, but even so, that doesn't help me...

Basically looking for a replacement for Notepad, and possibly some other's that make multi-tasking that little bit easier. Preferably, the Notepad replacement would be able to hand XHTML and CSS, unlike TextPad...

My ****ing manager 'designs' in Dreamweaver, publishes, then charges the client.

EDIT: Ah, you actually have a clue. Sorry if that was patronising, I've removed it now.

Heh....

To clarify: looking for a program (or possibly extension?) for Notepad, to highlight code in CSS and XHTML. Same as what Firefox does for .css files and "View Source". But... Yeah.

You can get a plug-in for Firefox that validates HTML, then gives you warnings and errors. The post is a bit further down, I'll pop it.

Bah, couldn't find it. Google it n00b!

Dreamweaver is good in coding view....there used to be a program called phpED. It used to be free, then got bought out - I still have the free version somewhere I think.

HTML Validator (based on Tidy)?? Great extension. https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&category=Developer%20Tools&numpg=10&id=249
Web Developer is another extension I'd recommend https://addons.update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?application=firefox&category=Developer%20Tools&numpg=10&id=60

As for Coin, you might want to try Notepad++, I find it to be a pretty good little program http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/.
