You could try 'contacts' - 'search for a contact' - then select 'advanced search' which cranks up the MSN homepage and allows you to search using certain criteria, this includes first and surname.
If you know their MSN name thing on their profile you can do it that way or type in their name on the profile search and hope they filled that bit in.
