Nintendo have told us the Gameboy Advanced will link up with the Gamecube but what could it do? It will also be used as an extra controller but what could this mean? The GBA will be an essential add on to the Gamecube (or the Gamecube an essential add on to the GBA) but how essential?

The obvious answer is that it could work similar to the visual memory unit on the Dreamcast but the GBA is so much more powerful so what else could it do? Well a card game such as poker could finally have a multiplayer on it! The problem a card game has had is that your opponent could see your deck with a split screen, but the GBA could be used to conceal these cards but once again this isn’t that amazing so what else could be done?

Sure it will have downloads from the GBA version of the game to the Gamecube version like the Gameboy colour does with the 64 but could it be possible to play 2 games at once? Well you could have it that you switch between the two consoles and what you do in one effect what happens in the other! Think about it Nintendo could be on to something big here.

This is just a possibility and what Nintendo have planned is undoubtedly going to change the face of gaming as we know it!

Here’s to the future
