I've got a '.htaccess' file that currently contains:
ErrorDocument 404 /2005/01/file_not_found_1.php
Now, I've been reading up on adding stuff to it but no matter what I try I keep getting it wrong and I get stupid errors. I know I'm being thick, so can someone please tell me what to put to stop people linking to my images apart from those in a certain directory?

Notice your server needs to support mod rewrite to support this.

Make sure you havn't messed up the permissions on the .htaccess file or you will be in no end of trouble. You will have to log into your server manually to change the permissions if that is the case.
