is there a piece of hardware i can use that will allow me to use a large screen tv instead of a monitor with my pc?
if such an item does exist what would it cost, what it is called but most important, what would be the overall picture quality compared to a pc monitor?

The quality would be insanely poor and most webpages wouldn't display properly.

Unleess you could afford a 100HZ TV set don't bother! (Most TV's are 50HZ)

A graphics card with TV output, or there is a little box made by trust which can convert a vga signal to svhs or composite, www.trust.com
