Just testing a site in Firefox for a client - really nasty site, don't want to share the spectacle :( - it won't validate anyway because I've got one nasty little Flash file that was supplied that *has* to be used, and can't be bothered to put in the satay method. HAS to be used, despite being pure pony - they supplied a lot of the design, I was asked to 'improve' it. Ha!

My problem is that Firefox doesn't have permanent scrollbars, so the design skips about a lot between a couple of pages that don't quite reach the bottom and a couple that do. Very annoying. Bah.

Yeah, it's a bit annoying when you're testing local and the page skips instantly, or on a phat connection.

Ah I see now, IE has a persitent area for the scroll bar, though the FF issue doesn't cause any real "problems" as it were. It's just a niggly thing for those who really notice it. TBH, I never really have.

That's why I'm complaining about FF! Otherwise I'd just be complaining.

I think you have.

If I shrink your DP site in FF then a scroll bar bounces up and moves everything to the left. Obviously while all the page sizes are the same it's not a problem.

I think this is one of yours http://www.endeavourchem.co.uk when moving off the home page to a 'longer' page then the whole lot skips to the left to make room for the scroll bar.

It's a FF thing.

Ditto, just pad it out, though never had this issue myself.

Pad the page out so that they all produce a scroll bar even if the content doesn't need it...

You don't get these problems with IE ;¬)
