Ok, just a few brief things about Jakarta. I've been here for only one night, and it was raining and dark the whole time so obviously these are very twisted observations:
- It smells like a massive wildfire
- Traffic. Endless traffic. A sea of traffic. Red tail lights that stretch into the horizon (almost pretty)
- Jakartans must love Pizza Hut. There is Pizza Hut everywhere. Their huge neon signs are like beacons in the night that guide you home.
- The city does not believe in bright street lights - it's very dark
- Fake lighted palm trees are in the medians
- Shangri La Hotel has an awful hotel band. From Canada.

Ok, just a few brief things about Jakarta. I've been here for only one night, and it was raining and dark the whole time so obviously these are very twisted observations:
- It smells like a massive wildfire
- Traffic. Endless traffic. A sea of traffic. Red tail lights that stretch into the horizon (almost pretty)
- Jakartans must love Pizza Hut. There is Pizza Hut everywhere. Their huge neon signs are like beacons in the night that guide you home.
- The city does not believe in bright street lights - it's very dark
- Fake lighted palm trees are in the medians
- Shangri La Hotel has an awful hotel band. From Canada.
