Been using iTunes for ages, never had any problems with it until last night.

Obtained a copy of an album I'd been looking for for ages, all downloaded ok.

10 files @ 256Kbps MP3.

As usual, went to "Import Folder" in iTunes and nothing happened. Tried it again, still no import, not even into an "Unknown Artist" folder like it does if it doesn;t recognise it.

Checked drive space, all fine, rebooted iTunes, same problem again.

Tried playing a file in iTunes from the folder using;

Right Click > Open With...

iTunes opens, nothing happens?

Works perfectly with WMP10 and WinAmp, just not bloody iTunes!!:/

Anyone got any ideas? Would it be a DRM issue? Never had it happen before and really stumped as it's the only folder that iTunes won't import!

Suggestions?

Its a russian site and their copyright law is basic at best. Theres little or no provision in their laws for digital distribution at the moment. They can distribute without consent of the copyright holders, hence everything is quite cheap as they aren't stuck with paying the privilege of offering the music for download.
So legal if you're russian. :)

Gave up. Re-downloaded the same album but at 192kbps, and no problems importing it at all.

I've had this happen before and it was to do with the way the files were named.

Might be worth trying to rename them and then try add them file by file.

OK, they're not protected files, do that rules out DRM.

Oddly enough, iof I save them as a m3u playlist from WMP10, I can import the playlist into iTunes, but no songs? Argh!! And it took me ages to find this album too.

Next try... Burn to CD, the try to import from CD!

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Brilliant service.
Love it, love it, love it!
