If the topic title confused you, I'll explain. At E3, Nintendo reported, in a private press conference that the Gamecube's CPU had been upgraded to 485Mhz while the GPU was downgraded to 162Mhz. Nintendo wanted to upgrade the CPU so that developers could use the extra power to create more complex A.I. and physics. However, because of this, the GPU (graphics processing unit) had to be downgraded so that the system would remain 'in-sync' and process data as efficiently as possible. If you're worried about the downgrade, don't be, Nintendo have re-assured people that this small sacrifice will have little effect in the graphics department. Besides, the GPU is still faster than the PS2's! Also, this to Special Reserve, I think you should update you spec list for the Gamecube! If you don't believe me, go here: www.nintendo.com!
