Ah it's just a trick to get the guy to give the laptop back, I'm using a version of Windows which is copied and I know is in use in about 20 others.
The only copies Microsoft care about are the copies that have been re-used thousands of times, copied for cheap sale on Asian markets.
Bet the guy gave the laptop back quick though :D
