On last weeks Velocity it was nice to see CM Punk making an appearance, albeit as half of a Tag Team being jobbed out along with Russell Simpson. My joy at seeing one of the most well-known and instantly recogniseable faces in independant wrestling was tempered somewhat by Josh Matthews and Steve Romero constantly calling his Chad Collyer.
a) Chad Collyer has a completely different ring style.
b) Chad Collyer has no tatoos.
c) CHAD COLLYER WAS ON VELOCITY THREE WEEKS RUNNING.
Muppets. Seriously, anyone with half as much interest in wrestling would have known who he was? The WWE hires muppet commentators who aren't fit to lace the boots of Mike Tenay. Mike would have known who it was. Mike would have been able to give you a complete run down of his career to date. But not these muppets.
Even if they are happy to live in Vince's world and not watch any other wrestling. Even if they are happy to not do their jobs correctly by making sure they know who was in a match...YOU'D THINK THEY'D BE ABLE TO REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO???
