There are several new and brilliant games heading our way. But does the waiting and thinking about playing them, make you play the previous versions.

At the moment, I am playing GT2 (again), due to all of the talk and hype of GT3.

Is this happening to anyone alse.

yer but some times its a waste of time because some sequels are so different. like aoe on pc, aoe2 is the same type of game but different when your playing it.

I tend to do that - Get some practice in from the older games ready for the new ones!! Tony Hawks being a prime example - I could never get tired of playing either version!!

Neither!

I love retrogames, and my favourite game of all time is Zelda 3, so I decided to get out my brothers SNES

The Legend Of Zelda (3): A Link to the Past

Is this because of the hype over Gamecube games or GBA games, or both.

My brother has got atleast 25 N64 games...and I've got almost double that on Gameboy and PC, however for the past few days I have been playing these games:

Super Mario Bros (+ Lost Levels)
Super Mario Bros 2
Super Mario Bros 3
Super Mario World
Super Mario Kart
Stunt Racer (I think that's what it's called. It's a 3D racer for the SNES)
The Legend Of Zelda (3): A Link to the Past

Yes, I'd say that the hype about the imminent sequel does make you play the original (or previous sequel) more.

I remember playing Super Mario Land on the GB, as I waited for Super Mario Land 2. I did the same thing for some of the micro machines and zelda games.

In a way, I think it makes you appreciate the original more.

I'll stop here, before diverging any further into the merits of sequels.....
