Mine is on nintendo.
I dont care if the gamecube has childish looking games beacause i know that nintndo always presents the most enjoyable games. I wonder how long it will be before people start saying gamecube cant have any really epic games because the disk only hold 1.5 gigabytes, What you must remember is that nintendo has all the compression technologhy from the cart based system, resident evil 2 was compressed from a 1.3 gigabyte set of cds but the n64 version which actually had more content than the PSX version managed to fit onto a 64 megabyte catridge.

when you look at it most parents will most likley buy there children a Gamecube, not because they Know whats good for them but because they know whats not and that's the XBOX. I commonly known that every house (except houses with O.A.P's in own either a P.C. or a games console. if they have a P.C. then there is no way they'll get an XBOX. and if they have a playstation which i must admit most people do (not me)they wont buy an N64 for obvious reasons they wont buy a PS2 because it cost alot of money and most parants would say "no darling i'm sorry you cant have a playstation 2 because it's £300." and that's that. if they want a Dreamcast there is a distinct possibility that they'll get one because he do have some really good quality games and after the recent price crash you can get really good deals on it ( like special reserve do) but they will soon find out that the Gamecube and XBOX are closer than they think and they'll try and sell it and play on a previous console e.g. Playstation, N64 or even Mega Drive or play on their P.C. untill the time comes.

(we'll have to pretend we're in the U.S. on november the 5th for a while) this is the scene Gamecubes here and you can buy it staright away for $199.95 with a controller in any of the 5+ colours and look forward to buying Zelda for $49. or you could wait 3 days until the radiator 2.. erm XBOX is relesed pay $100 more choose the boring black colour and look forward to seeing it crash and taking it in for repair then finding out that after buying the best most expensive game there is you find out that it's not very good. After selling it you find out that everyone has been converted to Nintendo and bought a Gamecube and that every sop has run dry of Gamecube. That's when you realise who's the best.

Remember, it's not the best console that wins, it's the most popular one.

As good as the Gamecube is, if we're the only ones who buy it then it won't go very far.

I know that it's got a lot of fans like us but it has to appeal to the average casual gamer too and break playstation from the minds of potential buyers.

I've no doubt that the Gamecube will be the best console but that doesn't neccessarily mean that it'll be the most popular. That part is all down to gaming.

The Gameboy advance is even more popular than the Playstation brand so if on every GBA game it said something along the lines of "The Gamecube is the greatest console on earth" then millions of GBA buyers will get advertisement. It could ensure Nintendo success.

I hope this isn't another board trying to bring an argument about again?

My Money is on the ps2,
I am an owner of a ps2 and i am looking forward to a bright future. The games that are currently in development such as:
The Getaway, MGS2, GT3, Ace Combat 4, GTA 3, Star Wars Online and Final Fantasy X are looking absloutely Stunning! (Oh yeah and lets not forget the greatest football game ever, ISS Pro Evolution)
Because of the huge success of the psx there are a lot of loyal sony customers and the DVD playback is also a big selling point.
As for the XBOX, I am predicting that it will be one of the biggest flops in gaming history. The reasons for this are because of the amount of ppl who simply dont like microsoft and because when the XBOX is released the other 2 rival consoles (ps2 and GAMECUBE) will be on sale for $100 less!.
I myself am not planning on purchasing an XBOX because nothing as of yet has caught my eye, but what i am looking forward to purchasing is the GAMECUBE. I think that nintendo will shift far more units of this than microsoft will the xbox. The low price will be a major selling point and some of the screenshots displaying what this machine can do are beutiful.It is a fact that Nintendo ALWAYS bring out excellent sytems along with excellent games, and in my eyes this will be a major success.
Sonys major threat is not from Microsoft but from nintendo.

and one day squaresoft will bring out one sequel too many and "BANG" no more Final Fantasy games yahooo! :}

No, I meant that at the mo, even with scrapped production and almost no new games on its release schedule, it offers the best entertainment available. The PS2, on the other hand, is just an excuse for developers like EA to churnout sequel after sequel of the same game.

err...what do you mean by dreamcast is the nearest rival....

it's not even in the console war anymore....so how can it compete

Gamecube, along with the help of the GBA, will win the console wa without a doubt. The nearest rival, the Dreamcast, is hardly noticed anymore, and the XBox is too big and chunky to be a console. In fact, Microsoft would do better releasing a Laptop PC instead.
