Big absentee is Jonny Wilkinson, but from Sir Clive's comments I'd imagine he'll call him in once he's fit enough. He is the best fly-half in the world, after all. But if he's still all broken, it'd be good to see Stephen Jones at fly-half. Wales forever.
Which brings me onto my main point. There's FAR too many Englishmen. Yeah, I know, he was the coach of the World Cup winning squad blah blah blah, but there is blatantly bias at work here. I mean, Ollie f**king Smith? Come on, he's only won a handful of England caps, and all as a substitute. Iain Balshaw? He's been injured for most of last year.
Only 3 Welsh forwards? The most dominant pack in the Six Nations and he leaves out Methin Jenkins (most pundits tip to be the Lions Test hooker), Brent Cockbain, Robert Sidoli and Alan Davis? Disgusting bias. Luis Moody has had an awful run for the last few years. ANDY SHERIDAN?! Awful awful player. But, oh yeah, he's English. Stick him on the plane. My mums part English, maybe she should go too.
It's not just Welsh players he's overlooking. Chris Paterson was one of the outstanding players in the Six Nations, and he's not in. But wait a minute, wait a minute - Will Greenwood is. You mean that ancient centre who lost his pace and guile two years ago? Yep. Him.
Dirty Clive Woodward. He couldn't be bothered to actually -research- his squad. He's too busy playing squash with Steve-o Wigley down at the Saints youth academy.
I hate English rugby. At least O'Driscoll is captain. I was half suspecting he'd make Dallaglio or Back captain. Ignore the fact they're both well into their thirties and retired frm Test rugby a year ago. What's wrong with Colin Charvis? Justin White? Johnny O'Connor?
Oh, that's right..... Not. quite. English. enough.
Dirty Woodward. He's the English Rafa Benitez.
Sheridan is bugging me. He's awful. As is Ben Kay.
Balshaw came back into the squad for the end of the 6 Nations and actually looked pretty good, and Moody is the hardest working forward you'll ever see. That and his kick off chases are beaten by none.
