This film, despite being, well, crap, was in my opinion far superior to the original (and it should be, being made 30 years later), and at the same time managed to be everything a quality B-movie should be: it has laughably poor acting, questionable special effects, ridiculous plot and plenty of humour. Throw in lots of screaming, blood and gore, mix with a touch of 80's campness, and you've got a damn good Saturday night B-movie crapfest.
Yep, this is one of those classic "so crap it's good" movies (see also: Chopping Mall, Death Race 2000 and Piranha).
Anyways, anyone know if this is out (or due to be released) in the UK on DVD?

> They're doing a remake of The Blob >_<
Again? What's with all the horror movie remakes? Texas chainsaw massacre, Dawn of the dead, Amityville, and now the Blob?
But a big-budget version of The Blob would be missing the point of the film completely.
Apparently there will be a big-budget Evil Dead remake as well. Which will be a crime.
