Directed by some bloke called McG.
Sounds like a really bad burger, but there you go.
Plot? I think there was one somewhere, wasn't really paying attention.
Acting? Yep, there was some of that somewhere to.
Special effects? I think so.
Direction? A man directed this movie. A man that knew that other men would watch this.
An update from the 70's tv show about 3 women working for a man they never see, solving crimes and looking fab.
But anyway, that's not important.
Why rent" Charlie's Angels"?
If you're a cinephile like me, you need style, intelligence, good plot, acting, sub-texts and all that film-geek rubbish.
However, 3 simple reasons to watch this one.
1 - Cameron Diaz
2 - Drew Barrymore
3 - Lucy Lu
HELLO THERE LADIES!
my favourite scenes?
The beginning. Cameron Diaz in a little gold bikini on a boat.
The rest of it when Diaz and Barrymore (Lu sometimes) are in it.
Which is all of it.
Be it Diaz doing the "booty" dance wearing spiderman pants, coming out of the sea with a wet-suit that JUST about covers her modesty.
Barrymore falling naked from a window.
Barrymore wearing a sheet.
And loads and loads of other bits that are pure, male-fantasy driven scenes.
Drop dead gorgeous women that know blokes want to see what they can do whilst pretending to enjoy the post-modernistic irony or something.
And McG knows this too.
A moronic film with zero plot, but that doesnt matter.
I'm off to watch it again now.
Diaz dancing slowly, with mucho wiggling, wearing spiderman pants and a little t-shirt.
I love movies.
That should be the tagline for the poster.
"Diaz in Spiderman pants, Barrymore dangling naked from a window. You know it makes sense..."
