Linkin Park were nominated for 'Favorite Artist - Alternative Music' at the 1/9/02 American Music Awards but lost to Limp Bizkit. Other nominees included Staind

I agree, given the fact that I've been a purist all my life. But then, I still listen to Linkin Park, even though I am not a teenager anymore. It might just be that I still have a lot of LP fanwork, and that I keep "shuffle" on in winamp.

Or it might be that all the bands mentioned sucked.

Given the intermediate success of "LP - Reanimation", LP would have been a logical awardee among the nominess, but Limp Bizkit?

Anyways, the only things that Lp have done good are the two studio albums (and may be "Frat Party at the Pancake festival").

Or just nominated for by 40 year old men trying to look like they know which bands are cool.

It might be that the awards were fixed, like some of the cricket matches back in 2000 (an even now).
