It's a really well produced piece of television too, seeing as it was made by the BBC. Only one or two special effects for the explosions and they're not bad for the 80s - real explosions, mushroom coulds, etc. super-imposed over the Sheffield skyline. Gritty and realistic, not a whiff of Doctor Who about it. I'm sure if this was shown now (it was made in 1984), some stupid parent would complain about the realistic harshness and despair shown.

Anyhoo, Threads is absolutely bloody terrifying. Nice to know there's still a good dental care plan after the apocalypse (Check her teeth right at the end :D )
