A few moments ago - at approx. 14:00, 31/03/2005 - I did observe, through my window, looking out to my neighbour's shed, your amazing display.
Firstly: congratualtions. On behalf of all males everywhere, I salute you. That was, indeed, a tip-top bird. Well in my son. Perhaps a little uptight at first, but the good old two-step-head-bob-two-step manouvre certainly did the trick.
Secondly: commiserations. My interest sparked by such a manly display of sauve and stealthy copulation unfoldeding across the rooftops, I continued to look on.
At this point, I did notice several mistakes in your technique. Excuse my for pointing out what may now seem rather obvious, but I feel it must be done.
While it may seem that, indeed, the top of a solid shed / garage type thing may be the perfect place for a slice of action - especially as other pigeons could see you at work, and recoil in awe of your conquests, further heightening your obvious domination of the areas' wingéd-rat population.
However it seems common sense that on such a perch, certain extra precautions should be made. In the height of passion, it is easy to negate such actions, but - as today's incident showed, with remarkable, almost painful, poiniency - as you are having it away, try to bear in mind:
Certain motions are likely to propel you - further augmented by furious flapping of wings and (although it has yet to be proven) screams of rabid pleasure - towards the edge of the structuré pour le bonk.
So, again, commiserations. It can't be easy to find yourself at the peak of enjoyment one second, and then falling to your doom, hopelessly entwined with your hard-won ladyfriend the next.
I don't think the frantic squaking helped maintain your macho image much.
And I doubt the seeing only one, surely female, bird fly up from behind the fence means your acions had a positive impact on sexual relations.
Chin up, lad.
It happens to the best of us.
