Musical geniuses who happen to play brutally and now, on The Subliminal Verses, have produced some great music-

or-

A bunch of idiots who wear masks and don't know anything about music except how to slacken a string.

The first option-ish.

While I don't think they are genius', I think The Subliminal Versus is top-notch. I don't think all nine members are needed, but who am I to complain? Good stuff, but to repeat, I only like their newest album.

Somewhere in between.

Corey is a good singer and Mick Thompsons's a good guitarist (don't know about the other one,Jim Somethingorother), and from what I've heard their drummer's pretty good too... But they have 9 members... Why? I can't help but think the guy who stands there hitting a dustbin with a baseball bat is a bit... Umm... unneccessery...?

I'd hardly call them geniuses or brutal though.

"The Subliminal verses" was a bit of a disappointment for me. On Iowa, they seemed to be focused on creating excessively heavy and brutal music and as a result, they produced their best stuff. They don't seem to have the same energy on Vol 3 and it was a bit of a let down.

Back on topic, I sort of agree with the first point, definitely more so than the second.

I think there great.

Iowa was typical of the bands portrayed image, thus being the poorest album.

You say theres nothing in bashing a dustbin with a baseball bat? Well Stomp! have made alot of money doing the very same thing, and not everyone can do that.

But they intended to go mellow with The Subliminal Verses. As far as I'm aware, people had been killed at some of their shows in the past, they wanted to downplay the "brutal" image.
