Italy weren't amazing but considering we drew with Moldova in the last game it was a great improvment.

Especially away from home with some decent players out... with a lot of our team being drawn from the Championship.
Beaten by two excellent free kicks.
Miller should be castrated though, damn fool.

Oh, and that referee was balls.

I think if we play a more attack minded formation against Italy at home, tehn we can win.
The second free kick was debatable too, but the first one was definitely a fair tackle.

Shame.

We only had two real opportunities though, whereas we were defending our own box for most of the game.

More attacking = more opportunities.

Ah well.
Play like that for the rest of the qualifiers and we could go through.

We need to get the wins against Moldova at home and Belarus in both legs. This should be a guarenteed 9 points.

Then there's Norway and Slovenia away. Both will be difficult, but if we can play like that at the San Siro, I don't see why they can't be beaten. And then, also, that performance shows me that we can beat Italy at home if we play at our best.

To be fair we can (in theory) win all our remaining games apart from Italy at home.
Not toally over yet (it is but I like some hope).

The free kicks shouldn't have been free kicks, though, which was the annoying thing.

But yeah, we did pretty well considering the squad that was playing. We also managed to prevent the front three of Totti, Cassano and Gilardino from scoring, which was good, seeing as Totti and Cassano in particular looked very good.
