So mobiles can't set fire to petrol stations, but we can! Static electricity from our bodes ignites petrol fumes. Have a nice drive home tonight ahahahahaahah *ignites and explodes*

I wouldn't write it off altogether though.
He did say:

"In practice, the restriction continues to be enforced on the basis that there is something inherently dangerous about the cell phone in such an environment.

"Cell phones remain a mysterious, unexplained hazard at the gas station."

So mobile phones ARE dangerous at gas stations, it's just that science still can't tell us why! :-O

Weird, I was reading a newspaper clipping that mentioned this earlier today; strange thing was, it was dated a few months ago. SPOOKY.

Anyway, it really is just a myth; the regulation to stop mobiles being used at stations came when they were of the brick sized variety, and the dangers of them relative to other appliances were unknown.

I seen a thing on TV that tested this. Mainly by filling a caravan with petrol and stuff then placing a mobile in it and ringing it. They tried loads of methods and nothing set it off.

Then they set up a wire, got some guy to make static electricity, touch the wire and BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.

There is a lift at work that always shocks me because I'm moving metal cages about to the cargo bay bit now. It's got to the stage that I'm scared to press the button. Like that episode in The Simpsons with the electric cupcakes and Bart goes mental.

Also, I was in my friend's car when she was getting petrol once... sje was talking on her mobile about a metre from the pump. Myself and 2 people in the shop started shouting at her... it was all slow motion.

The coolest ISP ever!
In my opinion, the ISP is the best I have ever used. They guarantee 'first time connection - everytime', which they have never let me down on.
