I reckon that Ps1 games are now tested on Ps1 and PS2 to make them work effiently on both but i've only ever seen about 2 dvd's saying "DVD video" then compatible with ps2 so this means they've been made and tested on both.
I think that now that the PS2 has been out for a while the publishers of all fomats are making their software to use on both.
do you agree?
However, I watched 2010 for the first time last week, and even with the Diagnosis on, it was unwatchable halfway through the film (due to lip-synch...or lack of).....
I wonder if Sony really have made the dvd player too fussy.....they make plenty of other dvd products...
maybe registered owners deserve an explanation/apology/new dvd driver!
To solve this, at the main PS2 menu, press triangle, and then over console, press triangle again, then where it says diagnosis mode, switch it on (with the disc in), and then go to the browser and press play. This doesn`t work perfectly, but it certainly helps the situation.
(This was shown in a post by Wookiee Monster a few weeks back).
The PS2 is less lenient than some DVD players. It's like the Netscape of DVD players.
