Need a new motherboard, RAM and graphics card before could even attempt to run HL2.

I've only just ordered the game.
not got it here yet but thought I had ordered it 1st class but must have missed the 1st class radio button, so its comming normal 2nd class :(
Yeah, it appears that although it is technically better than Doom 3 they have optimised it for ATI cards as well as Nvidia. Haven't checked to see which it favours but I know it supposedly runs a hell of a lot better (better programming) than Doom 3.

Well I'm not sure. I wasn't hyped up for HL2 at all. I only really thought about even buying it last night (which I did, then spent the night downloading it), however, it's brilliant :D
