Yes I dumbed down the topic title so we'd get some input. :P

Makes it sound more of a threat rather than 'oooh techy thingy'.

It mentioned iTunes near the end, saying that some of those stupid restrictions Apple but up could become permanent and unavoidable if this chip thinger goes in.

But nothing about mp3s.

Can't be bothered to read it all - did it mention surround sound Mp3s? The idea has been toyed with for a while, but they found a way to accurately encode reliable 5:1 quite recently (last time I checked), and the only format it'll be available in is a centralised, trusted software format. I'm sure someone wil find a way round it.
