3 weeks, 6 days 22 hours and 55 minutes ago (as I type this line) I trippped on the stairs of this library. I tore the ligament in the side of my foot. I then walked back to my room (Or rather I limped, hopping occasionally). I then iced it up, and rested it.
I got it bandaged up, and was on crutches for a few days. After a bit I could walk (the injury did not affect the walking parts of my foot, only the top/right side ligament).
If your injusry is similar then this may help:
Stand on one foot (the injured one if you want this to work).
At first, just practise the balancing part. Then try moving your other foot around the injured one, so that the weight rotates about your leg, so that each part of the ankle takes the strain gradually.
Next, do the same thing with your eyes closed. (I suggest you hold on to something as I fell over the first time I tried it!) This makes sure it is your ankle judging the balance, not your eyes.
You can also excercise the ankle by pushing it as far as it goes in each direction (without any pain). That is forwards/backward, left/right, and finally twisting in and out. I was told to do this for ten minutes every hour near to the injury, though I`ve given up now.
Lastly, swimming is good for it apparently. I swim a lot, so I was back in the pool quite quickly, however, as the injury was more towards the top of the ankle, it did hurt a lot as I kicked, so I`ve taken it very gradually. This should strengthen it up.
My ankle is certainly stronger than it was, and I hope it won`t be long until a full recovery is achieved (otherwise I may try what you are doing).
Anyway, I hope some of that helps.
Oh, one other thing - Good memory, knowing I was Phil.
Jese! I can't do that anyway, even with my ankles
> fine!
There's two things that cause this:
1) You're intoxicated (I think this is the most likely :-)))
2) You're intoxicated
:-)
Jese! I can't do that anyway, even with my ankles fine!

Hehehe!
Then put your dislocated thumb in place of your ankle. That

Lmao!
Alternatively, ignore

No need to go to a psycho, There's one typing this message right now... :-)
(Note spelling mistake

What spelling mistake?
:-)
Then put your dislocated thumb in place of your ankle. That way you`ll have more movement in your foot.

(Note spelling mistake intentional :-) )
It has also increased the probability of damiging it permenantly and increased the probability of twisting it. As well as all that... I've got a dislocated thumb and an extra lump on my ankle :-(
Oh well!
